The Cougar, also known as the Puma or Mountain Lion, is a mid-sized felid from North and South America. It is an adoptable animal in all three Wildlife Park games.
Description[]
Additionally known by over 40 other English names, including the Puma, the Catamount, the Panther or the Mountain Lion, the Cougar has the largest range of any terrestrial animal in the Western hemisphere, from the Yukon in Canada to the southern Andes of South America. It is highly adaptable and can give in a variety of environments, including mountains, deserts, rainforests and swamps. Although it will eat a wide variety of prey items, its primary food source consists of ungulates, particularly deer.
Although quite large, standing 90cm (35in) tall at the shoulder, the cougar is classed as a Felinae, or "small cat", and is subsequently more closely related to the domestic cat than to big cats like lions. It has very large paws and strong back legs, allowing it to leap to heights of up to 5.5m. Like most cats, it is solitary, coming together only to mate. Although it has been known to attack and kill humans, these are rare and they will typically avoid human settlements.

“ | Latin name: Profelis Concolor. The puma, also called the mountain lion, lives in tropical rain forests as well as in mountain and desert regions. The puma cannot roar, as it does not belong to the species of large cats, but instead, from a zoological standpoint, the puma is the largest of the small cats. This animal usually lives alone. The total population of the pumas is only slightly endangered, although animal breeders ruthlessly hunt the puma. | ” |
