The Great White Shark is a large cartilaginous fish. It is an adoptable animal in all three Wildlife Park games.
Description[]
Perhaps the most well-known species of shark, the Great White Shark is the world's largest meat-eating shark and can be found across the world's oceans, migrating long distances to find food. Large females can reach lengths of 4.9m (16ft), although some individuals are larger. It is believed to have gotten its name due to its white belly, which contrasts its gray skin. Aside from occasional attacks by orcas, great white sharks have no natural predators.
The great white shark has a varied diet, including turtles, sea birds, cetaceans and smaller fish, although they have a preference for pinnipeds such as fur seals. They are ambush hunters, often striking prey from below with enough force to leap out of the water when attacking. Rows of serrated teeth, which can be quickly replaced if one breaks off, make short work of its prey. The great white shark has a reputation as a man-eater, but although it is responsible for the greatest number of unprovoked attacks on humans of any shark, fatalities are comparatively rare. By contrast, the great white shark is now listed as a Vulnerable species due to hunting by humans.
Wildlife Park[]
The Great White Shark is an adoptable animal in Wildlife Park and is available in the base game. It is one of six exclusively marine animals in the game, alongside the Orca and Bottle-Nosed Dolphin, as well as the Beluga, Manta Ray and Basilosaurus added in the Wild Creatures expansion pack. They require a large water area by adding water pumps and lowering the terrain. Their daily needs and enrichments include fish and swimming. They do not have any preference for ground or plants.
Wildlife Park 2[]
“ | Latin name: Carcharodon Carcharias. The white shark is often the ultimate nightmare of swimmers and divers in tropic regions. Which is ironic since the white shark does not attack humans more often than any other shark species. Its huge jaw, with the triangle shaped, saw-like teeth is even capable of tearing apart larger dolphins. The white shark can replace teeth that it has lost within a very short period of time. This species is extremely endangered as a result of excessive sports-fishing. | ” |
The Great White Shark, known as the White Shark in-game, is an adoptable animal in Wildlife Park 2 and is available in the base game. Its daily need and enrichment necessities include meat, fish, swimming and diving. They can live individually, with 12 as the maximum number of herd.
