The Indian Elephant is a large Asian mammal. It is an adoptable animal in Wildlife Park and Wildlife Park 3.
Description[]
The Indian elephant is a subspecies of Asian Elephant. The Asian Elephant is the largest land animal in Asia and the second largest overall, after the African Elephant. Large males can reach heights of 2.75m (9ft) tall and weigh up to four tonnes. There are several differences between the Asian elephant and the African elephants. As well as being smaller, Asian individuals are stockier, and have smaller ears. They only have one finger-like extension at the end of their trunks while African individuals have two. Unlike the African elephant, generally only the male Asian elephant has tusks; females may possess small "tushes" that do not protrude through the skin.
Despite their name, Indian elephants can be found across southern and South-East Asia in a variety of habitats, from dry grasslands to tropical forests, but are always found in close proximity of water. They will graze and browse various types of vegetation, using their dexterous trunk to reach food, as well as smell and communicate with other elephants. Females form small groups along with their calves, whilst bulls are typically more solitary. Like all elephants, the Asian elephant is hunted for its ivory tusks.
Wildlife Park[]
The Indian elephant is an adoptable animal in Wildlife Park and is available in the base game. In the expansion pack Wild Creatures, it can be used to resurrect the Woolly Mammoth. When adopting the species, it is best to set up a high-height enclosure as they're capable of jumping over low fences. Their daily needs and enrichments include hay, sprouts, pellets (base game only), mineral (base game only), water, and scratching.
Wildlife Park 3[]
The Indian elephant is an adoptable animal in Wildlife Park 3 and is included as part of the Asia expansion pack. Their daily food and enrichment necessities include leaves, grass, water, scratching and wallowing (mud). They also prefer a minimum herd of 3, with 10 as the maximum herd number.
White Indian Elephant[]
Compared to their normal kinds, this variant has a slightly higher price and attractiveness. Their needs remain the same nonetheless.
