The Nile Crocodile is a large African reptile that is adoptable in all three Wildlife Park games.

Description[]

The Nile Crocodile is believed to be the second-largest extant member of the crocodile family. Males can reach a length of up to 5 meters (16.4 feet), but larger specimens have been reported. The Nile crocodile can be found throughout sub-Saharan Africa in a wide range of aquatic habitats and is believed to be the most common crocodile on the continent.

Like most crocodiles, Nile crocodiles are opportunistic ambush hunters that will eat anything they can catch, from fish and insects to large ungulates. They typically wait by the water's edge and ambush prey as they come down to drink, sometimes waiting for weeks. Their large jaws can produce one of the strongest bite forces in the animal kingdom, preventing its prey from escaping while the crocodile drowns it. Although they hunt alone, Nile crocodiles are quite social and will often gather in groups to bask.

Wildlife Park[]

The Nile crocodile is an adoptable animal in Wildlife Park and is available in the base game.

Wildlife Park 2[]

Latin name: Crocodylus Niloticus. Crocodiles have by and large remained unchanged since the age of the dinosaurs. Since its eyes and nostrils are situated on the top of their head, they are able to lurk concealed under water, before attacking with their death roll, virtually ripping their prey into pieces. Like most saurian, they possess a translucent nictitating membrane, enabling them to see underwater. In some areas, the population is not yet endangered.

The Nile crocodile, known as crocodile in-game, is an adoptable animal in Wildlife Park 2 and is available in the base game. Its daily need and enrichment necessities include fish, meat, diving and swimming. They can live individually, with 8 as the maximum number of herd.

Giant Crocodile[]

The Giant Crocodile is an adoptable animal in Wildlife Park 2 that is separate from the Nile Crocodile. As its name suggests, it is identifiable by its significantly larger size. It is based on "Gustave", a real-life nile crocodile who became notorious as a man-eater; during his lifetime, he is believed to have killed over 300 people.

One of the in-game missions identifies the giant crocodile as Gustave. The crocodile is listed as being 12m long, much larger than Gustave, and is closer in length to prehistoric crocodilians such as Sarcosuchus and Deinosuchus.
