The Striped Dolphin is a mid-sized cetacean. It is an adoptable animal in Wildlife Park 3.
Description[]
The striped dolphin is an oceanic dolphin believed to be closely related to the Common Dolphin. Males can reach lengths of 2.6m (8.5ft) and weigh up to 160kg (352lbs), whilst females are slightly smaller. It is named after the distinctive bands and stripes running along its body, which allow it to be easily identified from other dolphin species.
Found in tropical and temperate off-shore waters across the world, the striped dolphin, like most species of dolphin, lives in large groups of up to 1000 individuals which may mix with common dolphins. They mainly feed on squid, fish and crustaceans. Like many dolphins, it will often breach out of the water and will often approach boats in some regions, although in other regions it will actively avoid them due to exploitation in the past.
