The Warthog is a medium-sized African ungulate. It is an adoptable animal in Wildlife Park and Wildlife Park 3.
Description[]
The Warthog is a member of the pig family native to the grasslands, savannahs and forests of Africa. It is named after the facial wattles that are particularly prominent in males, which can weigh up to 150kg (330lb). Male warthogs also possess large tusks on both the upper and lower jaws, which are predominantly used for fighting and defense. Female warthogs are smaller, with less-pronounced tusks and wattles.
As with all members of the pig family, warthogs are omnivorous, but they are the only species of pig adapted for grazing. They will often move around on their wrists to eat grass, as well as use their snout and feet to dig for roots. They are capable diggers and will often dig a burrow to rest in, although they are just as likely to use abandoned aardvark burrows as shelter. Female warthogs live in large groups known as "sounders", whilst males lead more solitary lives.
Wildlife Park[]
The warthog, not specifically identified, is an adoptable animal in Wildlife Park and is available in the base game. When adopting the species, they prefer a 10% of ground hardness (full lawn of grass would suffice). Their daily needs and enrichments include fruits, sprouts, pellets (base game only), water, scratching, running, tussling and wallowing.
Wildlife Park 3[]
The warthog, identified as the common warthog, is an adoptable animal in Wildlife Park 3. It was added as part of the Africa expansion pack. Their daily food and enrichment necessities include grass, fruits, water, scratching, running, and wallowing (mud). They can live individually, with 16 as the maximum number of herd.
