The Bengal Tiger is a large Asian cat. It is an adoptable animal in all three Wildlife Park games.

Description[]

The Bengal Tiger is a subspecies/population of the tiger. Tigers are the largest members of the cat family and are recognised by their orange coats with dark stripes. Tigers are found across Asia and are apex predators in all regions of their habitat. Their muscular bodies and powerful limbs allow them to hunt large prey like deer, wild boar and cattle, with their stripes acting as camouflage. Tigers are one of the few cats that are comfortable in water, as they are strong swimmers and often chase after prey through rivers.

The Bengal tiger is the most common of the tigers, although it is still considered Endangered. Also known as the Royal Bengal Tiger, it is the second largest of the tigers, reaching lengths of 3.1m and weighing up to 258kg (569lbs), and is native to the Indian subcontinent. White color-morphs are known, and these are exclusive to the Bengal Tiger.

As with all tigers, Bengal tigers are typically solitary animals, although they are not unsociable. In the wild, they range over vast territories, with a male's territory overlapping several females. Bengal tigers live in a variety of habitats, from grasslands to mangroves to rainforests, although they are always found near water.

White Tiger[]

White Tigers are a leucistic pigmentation variant of the Bengal tiger, Siberian tiger or hybrids between the two. The color appearance of the variant is described as typical black stripes on a white coat. The cause of the white fur comes from the lack of a pigment known as "pheomelanin", responsible for the orange color on the Bengal tigers' coat. These white kinds grow in a faster rate and heavier compared to the normal kinds, weighting 200-230 kilograms and up to 3 meters in length. One in 10,000 births are born with this defect, if both parents carry genetic defect affecting the coloring. In the wild, there are about one hundred white tigers in India. However, they're quite common in captivity in worldwide.
